Get Involved

Our biggest need is to have parents volunteer to help keep time and keep score during our 3-4 home meets in January-February. It involves a 1-2 hours of time, and while intimidating, is really not that hard.

As a parent, I understand that you are trying to get your kid exposed to a variety of clubs, sports and experiences. What I also understand is that in doing so each one of these organizations is also asking you for your time. I can’t say that we are any different in that respect, but I can say that you will find the experience of wrestling to be more satisfying by participating. Not only is it a way to asisst the team in general, but it is a great way to meet other parents and learn the sport of wrestling.

To give newer parents a preview, at our home meets, we typically have 2-3 parents sit at a table to run the mat. This involves: one person to manage the score board and time, one person to keep score on a score sheet and one person to throw a rolled up towel at the referee when the time has expired (of course the most fun). At our home meets we will have 3-4 mats which will require 8-12 parents at a time (depending on experience). Our meets will typically run 4-5 hours, so the more volunteers the better, but honestly some parents prefer to sit at the tables most of the day. Match tables scoring tutorial video-

We can assure you that you will not miss your child wrestling; as each table talks to each other to ensure this does not happen. Parents are typically relieved a few matches in advance of their child's match.
